Today’s walk offers a dramatic blend of cliffs and golden sand beaches, taking us through some of the best dune areas for birdwatching in northern Menorca, where the fishing eagle is often spotted. The route also passes through a geologically rich and ecologically diverse landscape.

Starting from Cala Tirant, we head north along rugged, dark cliffs, navigating a series of gentle ascents and descents until we reach the archaeological remains of the Roman military camp of Sanitj, which is worth a brief stop.
A few kilometers later, we are greeted by one of Menorca’s most iconic beaches: Cavalleria Beach, known for its heart-shaped outline and natural beauty. We descend the wooden steps and walk along the beach—barefoot if you like—before continuing along the coastline to our lunch place: a restaurant featuring delicious local cuisine.

In the afternoon, there is an optional 3 km extension to Cala Pregonda, a stunning beach that rivals Cavalleria for the title of Menorca’s finest northern beach.
After some well-deserved rest at our hotel, we drive to the town of Mercadal—often considered the island’s central soul—for a relaxing stroll through its narrow streets and dinner in a traditional setting.
