Our flagship journey where the idea for Fresco Tours was born in 1999! Join us and enjoy all the comforts of a Fresco Tours full-service tour: expert guides, support vehicle, fabulous accommodations and savory gourmet picnic lunches!
Similar to our standard full-service Camino de Santiago, our Kinder (Gentler) Camino means shorter days with all the full features of a Fresco Tour! As we will cover the last 112 km, A Kinder Camino also allows you to request the Compostela certificate in the Pilgrim's Office in Santiago.
Join us as we adjust our compass to North as we head to Santiago de Compostela starting from Portugal. Our neighbors to the south are closely tied to Galicia and we will get a better feel for them as we cross through their lush countryside and quiet villages.
The Kinder (Gentler) Portugués is the option for those looking for less mileage per day. With our good friend, the yellow arrow, we cross over the River Miño and enter into Spain from Portugal.
All good endings start with a great beginning! We start our Camino at the border of Spain in the Pyrenees. On this journey, we come down from Roncesvalles into Hemingway’s Pamplona, stroll through the vineyards of La Rioja, and pass through hilltop villages connected by Roman Roads.
Over 1,000 years ago, the original Way to Santiago wove along the Northern Coast, passing through the fabled Basque Country. Come with us and discover this mysterious corner of the Iberian Peninsula known for its proud people and marked contrasts. Enjoy views of the sea to our right and the foothills of the Pyrenees to our left!
Spain's Canary Islands are famous for their beaches, palm trees, and volcanoes, but perhaps lesser known, is the officially recognized Camino de Santiago! On this new Fresco Tours adventure, we lace up our boots and leaving the southern sand dunes, we head north through stunning volcanic landscapes, pine forests and small oases as we cross the island of Gran Canary following our good friends, the yellow arrow and Fresco Tours!
We understand that walking the entire 500-mile distance of the Camino de Santiago may not be feasible for everyone due to time constraints or physical limitations. That's why we have designed a special tour that allows you to experience the major cultural highlights of the Camino while traveling comfortably by private bus. You will also have the opportunity to walk some of the more scenic sections on the Camino, followed up by one of our famous gourmet picnics.
Our epic journey began with a Pilgrims’ blessing in the foothills of the Pyrenees at Roncesvalles. After working our way through Pamplona, the capital of Navarra, we crossed over Roman bridges and acres of vineyards to arrive in Logroño. Our journey following the Milky Way continues as we start Chapter 2 and enter into Castilla y León!
The tour is accompanied by knowledgeable bilingual guides for the duration of the tour. In addition to looking out for your safety and take care of all your needs, so you will only need to worry about the walk.
When there are more than 6 people in the group, there will be 2 guides that accompany the tour. If there are more than 10 pax, you will have 2 guides and the driver of a minibus with your group.
Accommodations in charming restored Galician Pazos – some dating back 300 years and 3 & 4 star hotels.
We like to eat and ALL your meals (with wine and beer) are part of your journey, including our world famous Gourmet Picnics!
A support van also accompanies the group to provide assistance when needed – if one day you cannot or do not wish to walk the full scheduled miles, you are more than welcome to do lesser options.
In addition, once you register, we will contact you to assist with any hotel, train or bus tickets and arrangements that you might need prior to or after your Fresco Tour. Our client service managers are wonderful resources and will provide advice and guidance with your journey before you even set foot in Spain! Before, during and after – we take full-service guided tours to a new level!
