I just completed Fresco’s “Kinder, Gentler Camino” on the French Way, walking 7-11 miles per day. We walked the final 115km of the Camino Frances in shorter stages over about nine days rather than the usual seven days with longer distances (also available through Fresco). I am a reasonably fit 72-year old woman, and these shorter stages really worked for me. Our group ranged in age from 58 to nearly 80. The terrain is challenging if you are not used to hills, but our wonderful guides Hector and David, were encouraging and helpful. I cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience was with Fresco. We stayed in a reconverted old monastery, and several country estates dating from the 16th to the 18th centuries.
