If you are planning to walk the Camino, I strongly recommend that you use Fresco Tours. We recently completed a self-guided walk from Ponferrada to Santiago with Fresco, and right from the start, we had a good experience. Elba was remarkably knowledgeable, professional, and very easy to work with. Nagore, our guide in Ponferrada, got us off to an excellent start. Her tips and advice proved very helpful on a daily basis. The materials Fresco provided were extremely useful, especially the daily maps. A Curated Camino
A very well organized tour with thoughtful attention to detail and varied circumstances like weather changes and physical condition of travelers. Our tour leaders, Ana and Niko, not only knew the terrain, history, culture, food and other interesting features of the places we went through, they were also engaging storytellers. They were sensitive to the needs of our group, flexible (like organizing an unscheduled picnic lunch when there was a popular request for it), and most of all, fun to be with. Our transport was excellent, and our accommodation facilities carefully chosen, with comfort, convenience and character considered. Time For A Fresco Camino
I was a "reluctant" pilgrim, but Fresco changed all of that. Alyssa in the office, our guides Ana and Natalia, comfortable accommodations, and tasty food all exceeded my expectations. A Family Affair
It was a wonderful time for my wife and me, being with our two grandkids. We had an awesome journey walking on the Camino!! Everything was just perfect. Our grandkids loved the Camino experience. They walked mostly with themselves as I wanted this to be "their Camino". We usually connected for a cup of coffee and lunch. They walked faster than me, so when they stopped, they would just look for me to catch up. They had a beautiful time meeting others along the way, following the yellow arrows and absorbing so much. They both said they want to return to the Camino someday (who doesn't!!). Our time with Ana in Sarria was great and the Fresco dinner in Sarria was awesome.

Highly recommend
We did the 200 km self-guided "A Fresco Start" tour. Communication with Elba and the Fresco office was excellent and well organized. Our guides on the first night and last day were great and they provided us all the information we needed to walk the Camino. The hotels they booked were generally very good and all included breakfast. They also provided luggage transport.
I think this is a great middle ground for people who want a little help on logistics on the Camino (who don't want to go fully self-sufficient), but who don't need a guided tour (which is probably unnecessary on the Camino for most). Highly recommend.

The Way to Camino
This was my third Camino trip with Fresco Tours, and each one has been better than the ones before. Fresco Tours simply address every need yet does not eliminate the “pilgrim” aspect of the Camino experience. Who needs the hassle of finding lodging, schlepping baggage, planning meals, and all of the other details that can detract from a beautiful Camino experience? A private room, comfy bed, warm shower, and good meals are important for many pilgrims of my vintage. Add the benefit of knowledgeable tour leaders who are there to help but who also give you plenty of independence, and great pre-trip planning assistance with travel arrangements, hotels, and every other need. Nobody does it better
The guides Piero and Nagore were unbelievable. I couldn’t get over how they were able to anticipate so many things and clients. They were able to get the people to form as a team quite quickly. Their experience and knowledge of the Camino was extremely helpful to my experience. The tour was fantastic, from the driver Manuel who expertly maneuvered the bus through the beautiful villages to the amazing lunches provided along the way. The Camino was everything that I had hoped for, but Fresco made it even more. From the beautiful Pazos we stayed at, the meals or should I say banquets we enjoyed at the Pazos and the cultural visits provided by the guides. I can’t imagine doing any Camino tours without the Fresco touch. We started in Leon for the Frances Camino but now we want to do the Portuguese Camino with Fresco of course.

Absolutely The Best Experience
This tour was everything they promised and more. I went on their Kinder Camino tour and was so extremely happy with this company and the fabulous guides we had. My friend and I at age 75 each, savored every minute. Our guides Ana and Miguel were so thoughtful, helpful, and kind. No pressure at all but we both made it. Ana was so knowledgeable about the history of Spain and the Camino, Miguel her partner was like a sponge wanting to learn every American term and language usage. The van and bus were always there for transport. The food was so good and each day a new adventure in the food of Spain. We ate at local places and enjoyed the places they chose.
Just got home yesterday and would go again tomorrow. Am I a hiker? No way but have wanted to make my Camino for a long time. This is the best company. Be prepared for the great customer service and inclusions you weren’t expecting. A bus to take you to starting points and a small van to provide you with supplies. An amazing "Kinder Camino"
We did the "Kinder Camino" guided tour and couldn't have been any happier with Fresco and our trip. I have stage 4 pancreatic cancer so was unsure if I would be able to accomplish my dream of walking the camino and by walking with Fresco, I did! I thought the support available was the main benefit but the guides were fantastic and the cultural/historical part of the tour added so much. Ana and Miguel were fun and took such good care of us. And they could pivot! When I needed to take an afternoon nap, they made it happen and that made completing this trip possible- I did get my Compostela! Silly me but I also didn’t realize I had signed us up for a gourmet eating fest! 11 days of amazing, abundant food and drink. SO MUCH FOOD and it was shared over hours at the many tables we enjoyed with our fellow "Camigos." There were 13 guests on our tour, and I enjoyed each and every one of them--wonderful, interesting, kind people. Fresco couldn't have done anything better. My husband and I were both so pleased and grateful for our experience. Thank you!

Absolutely wonderful adventure thanks to Fresco
We took Fresco's 10 day guided tour of the last 100 miles of the Camino. Our guides Jeffery and Sandra were fantastic; the inns were amazing and the food was wonderful. The tour was beautifully organized, with daily maps and notes on things to see. Epic Adventure
Walked self guided tour from Ponferrada. It was an epic adventure. Fresco Tours provided outstanding package including daily maps with distance and altitudes, resting stop points, cafes or bars, and great overnight hotels. The staff was very helpful, polite and quick to respond. The hike opened the door to pastoral scenes, forests, rivers and history.

Fresco is amazing. The incredible staff treats its clients like family and constantly works to make certain everyone has the best possible time on the trip. My wife and I have walked two of Fresco's unguided caminos and both were superb. Alex and Elba always are ready to jump in and solve problems, like finding lost items or securing medical care for sick or injured pilgrims. On our most recent trip in the summer of 2021, I injured my hand and needed an x-ray. Alex immediately knew the best hospitals along our camino route and guided me to a good resolution. I recommend them without reservation.

Our "bucket list" trip came true!
We completed a self-guided tour through Fresco Tours on August 24, 2021. Elba at Fresco Tours took great care of us. We communicated regularly throughout 2020 and 2021 about our trip and preparation during COVID. She provided us with updated information, great accommodations, and an itinerary that met our family needs. As sometimes it seemed like we were making changes to our plans daily, Elba was always patient and made our "bucket list" trip come true. We highly recommend Fresco Tours and know we will travel with them again. And the added bonus is that we got to meet up with Elba along the Camino. How fun was that!!

Excellent Care
I started from scratch figuring out what I wanted to do el Camino hacia Santiago de Compostela and how. I didn’t know much. Alyssa was our first contact and she was so sweet, patient and diligent. She answered all my questions, handled all my doubts, listened to all my needs/concerns and ideas and helped me to choose which option was best for me and my friends.
Once that was done, we passed to Elba. I think my first email was “I want Alyssa back” . She took it very candidly and guarantee I was going to feel good with her and she did not lie. She was with us all the way from the very moment we left home to the last minute after we finished the Camino and headed to Barcelona.
Everything was coordinated very well and we did find some hiccups throughout , but she owned each one and helped us resolve without hesitation. The experience was wonderful. I definitely recommend their service.

Fresco Tours is the best way to see the Camino
We did the French Camino with Fresco Tours 5 years ago and decided to do the Kinder Portuguese Camino with some friends this time. Our guides Ana and Piero were fantastic, and we even had dinner with a Count at one of the Manor Houses! The food (picnic and restaurants) were great. Raul the bus driver was also great, and we always felt we were being well looked after, learning and having fun!

Wonderful experience on the Camino
I had long wanted to walk the Camino de Santiago, but was put off by the very high prices charged by other companies. A relative found Fresco Tours, whose charges were much more reasonable. I was expecting quite a basic experience as a result, but it couldn't have been better. The accommodation ranged from perfectly adequate to superb, and we had a helpful map for each day with recommended cafes and restaurants in route. The Fresco Tours staff are wonderful - helpful and friendly. I have no hesitation in recommending them, and am definitely considering another trip with them.

Fresco Tours delivered beyond our expectations
We did the Frances Kinder Camino with Fresco Tours. The itinerary was perfect with extra sights to see along the way, great manor houses to stay, wonderful dinners just for our group and two guides, Ana and Raul who were interesting, entertaining, patient, and most knowledgeable. We were concerned because of our age, I am 81, that it might be too much, but not so. Stay Fresh with Fresco Tours on the Camino
My wife and I spent 11 enjoyable, memorable days hiking the Camino de Santiago with Fresco Tours. Ana and Roberto, our two guides, were energetic, knowledgeable and pleasant. They prepared us for each day’s hike with local knowledge and memorable insights. There were historic churches, medieval structures, local experiences and “characters of the Camino” we would never have discovered without our guides. They were a joy to have with us. Each night’s lodging was fabulous. The meals were terrific with local specialties ranging from octopus, Don Pedro peppers and calamari. Each day’s hike included a refreshing picnic en route that was prepared by our guides. We were nervous about our ability to hike over 100 km, but the pace, camaraderie and unique experiences of each day made it a truly wonderful adventure.

We Basqued in the Glory!
Carol and Hector provided a wonderful tour on the Camino Norte. We had eight family members in our group with a wide range of ages and hiking experience. There was a great availability of options daily for a hike that was more challenging than the French Way. The Basque food was delicious and the fellowship with our group of 16 plus guides will be treasured.

Kinder Camino Tour
On August 27 our journey began and 11 strangers, two guides and a bus driver become one. Every mile walked was viewed through both my lenses (eye and camera) and senses as I had the opportunity to speak with many individuals from around the world who were walking the Camino for a variety of reasons.
Our guides Jeffery and David went above and beyond to ensure our experience was top notched. Their local knowledge added to the experience and after a few days our brains were overloaded with knowledge. What else can I say but Fresco Tours went above and beyond to ensure our trip was one to remember. To my fellow pilgrims whom I shared meals and stories with, and the occasional sticky yellow drink, be safe until we once again cross paths. To those I have yet to meet and want to experience the Camino without the hassle of struggling to book accommodation, side trips, etc., I would highly recommend Fresco Tours for a once in a lifetime experience.

Being a vegan on the Kinder Camino tour
I'm just back from the 11-day Kinder Camino tour starting from Leon/Sarria. And since it's probably boring to hear more about what knowledgeable and warm guides David and Jeffery are, what a fantastic company Alex runs, how flawless the logistics were, how peaceful and serene the countryside was, I thought I'd write about what it was like as a vegan on the trip since I haven't yet seen a post about that.
Breakfast was absolutely necessary to fuel up. A cafe solo to start. Granola and cereals, lots of fresh and dried fruit and nuts. Biscuits. Some manor homes had soy or almond milk and soy yogurt, peanut butter. Pan con tomate. One place even offered vegan cold cuts!
Picnic lunches provided lots of choices. Jeffery or David would make a special portion for me, leaving out the cheese in the pesto pasta or the salad. Lentil and bean salads. Fruit skewers. Dark chocolate with nuts. Lettuce wedges with roasted peppers. White asparagus. Crusty freshly baked bread. Honeydew and crenshaw melon sweeter than you've ever had. Dark chocolate with nuts. Wine, beer, Kas sodas.
For dinner, whether we were in the manor home or a restaurant, there was always a choice for me. Vegetarian paella. Bountiful plates of grilled vegetables. Roasted padron peppers. Vegetable primavera. Stuffed mushroooms. Eggplant "burger." Falafel patties. Risotto and vegetables. Ratatouille. Zucchini soup. Hummus. The potatoes in Galicia, whether boiled, roasted, or fried have so much more flavor than ours in the US! A coffee grappa or a herb one to top off the meal. Many times, my fellow pilgrims would eye my food even as they feasted on tender lamb, hake, pulpo or empanadas.
If you're a ovo-vegetarian, you could add the marvelous tortilla (potato & egg sometimes onion omelette), the Santiago cake (almond), pasteis de nata (Portuguese custard tarts), and a variety of pastries, cakes, and macaroons. And a lacto vegetarian could enjoy the omnipresent flan, cheesecake, and local cheeses from Arzua (the Galician cheese capital).
Suffice it to say, that though I was walking 3-4 times more than I do in New York, I came back from Spain with an extra 2 pounds. Buen provecho!

Your constant attention, advice & suggestions made our journey more pleasurable & smooth sailing. And those hotels?!?! Fabulous boutique hotels with their own personalities, were a gift every night. Sharon & I both loved the walking. I especially enjoyed doing it solo. We generally began at 7:30 after consuming an exquisite breakfast & a cafe con leche, the very best coffee I have ever had. Sharon & I would walk together for a bit, then at the sign of the fist hill, we hug, & she scampered up the hill like a bunny, me following, more like the tortoise. After the first two days of heat, the weather could not have been more perfect. No rain during our walking time and no blisters.

Fresco Tours did a great job. All of the people we dealt with were helpful and knowledgeable. The guides were the greatest - friendly, helpful and always there to help out. Great Experience, great guides
Our group did part of the French Way through Fresco Tours. We were five Canadian friends and were joined by two more people. With a group of seven pilgrims and two guides we started our trek. Amazing Experience and Amazing Guides

I can't say enough good things about our guides. They were so friendly and lovely and it was a pleasure spending the trip with them. memories that I will treasure always
I feel as if I know you only because of the many conversations you have had with my Auntie Barbara, and how your guides have shared your story and the development of your most successful company. I had every intention of writing to you after our first Fresco tour, 5 years ago, but like so many other people, a customer satisfaction letter fell further down in the priority queue. But not this time.
Over a year ago Auntie decided that the only way to celebrate her upcoming 85th birthday was to expand upon the incredible adventure she and I shared for her then almost 80th, but this time the trip would include her daughter and grandson. While delighted by the prospect of returning, I admit I had concerns. How would this woman with nothing but fond memories of Jason and Raul, ever be satisfied with different guides? These two men knocked it out of the ball park and gave us both the experience of a lifetime. She is fairly traditional in her gender role expectations, and she had often mentioned their strength and knowledge, and ability to plan and care for us. As we flew over the Atlantic Ocean, I reminded her, "Auntie- keep an open mind. This is a whole different trip. A whole new wonderful. So it's probably better if we keep comparisons to a minimum, ok?"
Then came our first day of walking the Kinder Camino early this July. The steep climb left her winded, sweaty, and thirsty. She admitted that it was too much. It was time for Dora and Irene to work their magic. Immediately they created a plan that would enable her to be picked up by the ever dependable Manuel and get a lift to the check point stage, where she would get a cold drink, rest in the shade and greet us as we all made our way to gather.
From that first day on the trail, both Irene and Dora treated my Auntie with such respect and dignity, never making her guilty or burdensome. Their emphasis was 100% about finding a way she could participate, in accentuating her abilities, not her disabilities. They conferred together, using their wisdom of the trail and crafted an individual Barbara Plan daily. Their in-depth knowledge of the path enabled them to choose the spots that worked best for us.
This dynamic duo teamed up to exceed our expectations. Their chemistry is beyond positive, and they clearly enjoy each other's company and respect each other's abilities. Irene and Dora won us all over instantly with their wealth of knowledge, infinite patience, spectacular picnics, and personal touches. Irene anticipated that maybe the boys would play tennis at the manor home and acquired paddles for them, Dora heard me say I wanted to try local yogurt and secured some at an indoor luncheon. Several of us left items behind and they were magically returned. Vegetarian meals were never regarded as a nuisance or second thought. Our glasses were filled literally and figuratively. It's the intuitive and empathic work of the guides in the field, in this case Dora and Irene, who helped make someone's dream come true, even though the trip turned out much differently than she had expected. All of you made this woman's dream a reality, despite the limits. Thank you so very much for that. We made memories that I will treasure always.

All you need are hiking boots!
I planned to complete the French Camino myself, sleeping in albergues/hostels and walking the Way in about 40 days.
Unfortunately, I injured my right knee and contemplated going home after completing about 200 km. I checked in with friends in the U.S., one of whom had completed the Sarria to Santiago de Compostela stage with Fresco Tours. After speaking with her, I decided to book the Fresco Tours tour about a week prior to its start.
The meal and lodging arrangements were first class but I liked the lunch picnics the best. We enjoyed guide prepared regional dishes and specialties plus dessert! Once I joined the tour, I did not worry about one thing - not even my second backpack, weighing about 15 kg. It was moved and waiting in my luxe room after each day’s walk. I was injured but was able to complete several stages and 80% of most days. They always circled back to make sure I was safe.
I am so happy I did not let my injury stop me from completing my dream - the feeling of walking into the square in Santiago is one I will long remember. The only way I was able to accomplish this was with the help and support of Raul and Hector, my competent Fresco Tours guides.

Walking a Pilgrimage Together
Sixteen members of the congregation I serve in Ohio, walked the El Camino together, in June of 2019. We had a wonderful experience and were aware of God's presence through our many experiences on the Camino. We felt blessed by our pilgrimage and will be sharing the experience with members in August.

The delicious picnics introduced us to the Galician food style

Exceeded our expectations
If you’re thinking of doing the Camino de Santiago tour and don’t want to do anything but walk, I recommend doing it with Fresco Tours. My husband and I just completed the guided Kinder Portuguese Camino and we can’t say enough good things about it. Alis, Pedro and Raúl, the Fresco Tours team that looked after us are excellent. Without being overbearing, they ensured our safety and comfort. Special mention needs to be made for the lunch picnics, they were nutritious and delicious. I just completed my second hike with Fresco Tours. This time I hiked the Portugal route to Santiago de Compostela. Everything about this trip was amazing. Everything is perfectly organized from start to finish. The places we stayed at night were fabulous. The food was all delicious. Most importantly the guides were the best! Everything we expected and more!
Recently completed the 115 km Self Guided Fresco Tours walk from Sarria to Santiago - it went by too quickly! First off a shout out to Elba who is awesome! Right from our first inquiry many months ago she was at the ready to help suggest and book our pre and post walk travel arrangements. Roberto welcomed us warmly and got us organized with everything we needed to find our way. We enjoyed his history lessons and escort out of Sarria. Outstanding 10 days with Fresco Tours on the Camino!
Our ten days could not have been better. What made it the best were our two guides, David and Dora. I am glad I decided to mark the occasion of my retirement by walking the Camino with Fresco Tours. I could not have asked for more collegial travel companions than the 9 fellow pilgrims that made up our group. Our guides Hector and Alís did an excellent job organizing our daily treks and preparing our wonderful all fresco lunches each day. They enriched our experience by taking us off the Camino to investigate some additional sites along the way. The other pleasant surprise were the "pazos" we stayed in at night. Each inn had its own charm and character and provided hearty breakfasts and and delicious dinners with farm to table freshness. I will definitely look into other tours operated by Fresco Tours.

Fellowship, friendship, and accomplishment
Awesome experience on the kinder Camino de Santiago. 3 years ago myself and 2 other friends discussed walking the Camino, ultimately 6 of us just completed walking the Camino. None of us envisioned how well we would be taken care of from the initial planning via email to final completion. I have been totally impressed by the thoroughness and follow through of each request, hotels prior to and after (we did some sight-seeing in Madrid and Santiago), train tickets and a food tour were arranged by Alissa. The tour guides, Piero and Roberto, made this walk special via their knowledge, enthusiasm, ever watchful care (myself and another friend walked very slowly), changes due to weather were seamlessly made, the evening meeting kept our group informed of the next day walk with a printed plan, and the picnic lunches by Piero superb. Our bus driver, Raul, also provide safe travel. The restaurants and evening accommodations excellent. Needless, to say Fresco tour made this a wonderful and unforgettable experience with friends.

The Most Amazing Experience

Wonderful way to walk the Camino
We booked our tour with Fresco Tours on the recommendation of a friend and after looking at several other tour companies - we are so happy we did! Hovering around 60 years old and in good physical condition, we wanted a Camino experience that challenged us physically and spiritually, but still provided flexibility to walk at our own pace, be with a group or not for meals and sight seeing, transported our luggage, and selected comfortable lodging each night. Fresco Tours did all of this and more, flawlessly. We felt that the 200 km tour was just the right length to get into the pilgrim groove but not too long as to occupy all of our vacation time. We were very fortunate that the seven other pilgrims who shared our itinerary were wonderful people and became close friends during the walk. Although, with research one could select and book the hotels on their own and arrange for luggage transfer, it was very comforting to know that Fresco Tours was just a phone call away if problems presented, which they didn't. If you are thinking of hiking the Camino, look at what Fresco Tours offers - you will be glad you did.

Perfect Way to walk the Camino - supported
Just finished 120 km with Fresco Tours "Kinder Camino". It was a perfectly organized trip from initial contact to all pre-trip planning for things like hotel rooms pre-trip and trains from Madrid to Leon, to the walk itself. We stayed in lovely old manors we never would have found on our own, ate wonderful food, drank good wine - all superbly organized by Fresco Tours. Our guides were knowledgeable and engaging on everything from Spanish history to Spanish wines. The "Kinder" version meant that we did the trek a little slower than traditional trips. As a 70+ and - couple we appreciated that and found the distances very manageable. It was a truly rewarding trip and we are planning on "keeping walking" so we can add another section of the Camino to our accomplishments - definitely with Fresco Tours again.

Great Camino
I'm still processing my Camino, but Fresco Tours did a great job for us.
My wife and I -- and several friends from college -- did a 200 km self-guided trip with Fresco Tours starting in Ponferrada, Spain and ending in Santiago. The hotels were good to great, which you have to expect walking across Northern Spain. They managed luggage transfers from hotel to hotel splendidly. And when we had issues, such as a lost t-shirt or sunglasses, Fresco Tours stepped up and found the items and forwarded them to our hotels downstream. How cool is that?
Our best experience happened when one of our friends had a medical issue. Fresco Tours arranged for my friend to meet with a doctor and then rent a car when it became clear he could not continue walking the Camino.
I cannot say enough good things about Fresco Tours. When I return to Spain, and I will, my first call will be to Fresco Tours. They look after their clients.

Just finished my first visit to Spain, and my first excursion with Fresco Tours. I would highly recommend them. They arranged for my non-escorted tour on the Camino de Santiago, and everything was superb. Their help with pre-trip planning and questions was invaluable. They were extremely well organized, and made the process so easy.
Once on the Camino, the information they provided in the orientation packet was exactly what was needed to plan each day's hike. And the hotels they reserved for us along the Road were clean, modern and offered great food options.

The Heart and Warmth of Fresco Tours

Meditative and Awe Inspiring
My college roommate and I decided to celebrate our 70th birthday year and our 50 year friendship by walking the last 115K of the Camino. We began our self-guided tour in Sarria and walked for 6 days to Santiago. The Camino was amazing. Daily walking the path through villages, meadows, forests and rural roads was meditative and awe inspiring. The accommodations arranged by Fresco Tours staff were welcomed and comfortable. My adult son and I joined A Fresco Start for a self-guided week of hiking the last stage of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. It was wonderful. Rolls Royce of the Camino!
It has been 17 days since we ended our Camino with Fresco Tours and 8 days since we said goodbye to Spain from Barcelona. But I am still missing the experience and time I shared with my sister, Michelle and my dad, Michael, our fellow pilgrims, Veronica, Shanna, Simon, Eduardo, Rita, Jill and our wonderful guides from Fresco Tours, Ana and David.
The experience touched my very soul and until today I am still reflecting on those very special 9 days that I will always hold close to my heart.
Before I left for the Camino, I spoke with a friend who had just returned from the Camino. When I mentioned we were going with Fresco Tours, she said, “Oh! You will be well taken care of because they are the Rolls Royce of the Camino!" I was already impressed that she had heard of Fresco Tours and even more surprised by her comment. Few in Singapore have gone for the Camino and for those that I know of, they were mostly self-guided and led by a priest from Singapore.
After experiencing the Camino with Fresco Tours first hand, I must say Fresco Tours is even more than the Rolls Royce of the Camino. I have never experienced others but its a tough act to follow.
Coming from a background that involved event management, I could see how much thought was put into the whole design of this tour and most of all the hard work that comes before, during and after. You have an amazing team. What makes Fresco Tours a few notches above the rest I would say are the people.
Alissa has been such a pleasure to correspond with, even though most of the time she was corresponding with Michelle, I was following silently, she was always ready to help and always reverting so promptly.
Ana and David, they captivated me with their knowledge of the country, culture, history of Spain and the Camino. But what impressed me most was their attention to detail and to the needs of each of us. This touched me very much. Always professional so very hardworking, but what sets them apart from other guides is their sincerity, care and concern.
Last but not least, a special mention to 3 lovely ladies who we would not have known about if Ana and David had not mentioned them to us at our last dinner together. Patricia, Mireia and Sandra, the unsung Heroes, their hard work could be seen in the organization and efficiency of the entire tour. I am sure they were the backbone of the tour.

Buen Camino
We did the 115 K version of the Camino de Santiago as a self-guided tour with Fresco Tours. They did an excellent job of providing us with necessary trail information (arranged by day), arranging fine accommodations along the Camino, and ensuring our luggage was waiting for us at our next location. We had an orientation guide at the beginning where we discussed the trip and oriented us to the trail markers during the beginning of our first trail day.

The "Kinder Camino"
The "Camino" speaks for itself, but what makes it special is what Fresco Tours provides to you in the way of accommodations, food and especially office staff and guides. From the start, Alissa couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful than if she was my personal assistant. Our accommodations were what made the Camino special for us. Manor homes (Pazos) and hotels that were beyond any expectations. And the food! There was actually too much for my liking, but you don't have to eat it all

Wonderful experience
We walked the 153 kilometre Portuguese Camino in a 15 member tour group organized and managed by the Spanish based Fresco organization in May 2018. This was a wonderful experience due to the historical and geographical background of Portugal and Spain greatly enhanced by the staff of the Fresco organization and the friendliness of members of the tour group (none of whom we had previously known).
The tour package included the carriage of baggage, expert guides, gourmet meals, high quality and quantity local wines and both modern and historic manor accommodation. The Fresco staff were quite excellent in every way. The experiences were just perfect.

The Kinder, Gentler Camino
Fresco tours made this long-anticipated walk along the Camino de Santiago everything we could have hoped for. Our wonderful guides, Roberto and Dora, did everything possible to make this the trip of a lifetime for the seven pilgrims in our group. This tour featured a carefully planned walking route with backup support on a comfortable bus, wonderful meals featuring local cuisine, fantastic wayside picnics, and accommodations in beautiful country Pazos. Our tour ended with the dramatic swinging of the Botafumeiro during the Pilgrim Mass in the Cathedral of Santiago. All things considered, our experience with Fresco Tours could not have been better.

Our guides Alís and Raul were fun attentive and always helpful. We thought it would be better if we could choose our meal options but Fresco and our guides arranged wonderful meals which exposed us to the local cuisine much better than if we had tried to navigate menus. Same with the hotels - all were either well located or great spots, usually both. The arrangements are seamless with Fresco doing all the work of arrangements and baggage transfer. If you didn't feel like walking or just part way that was accomplished. This is a top flight agency - use it with confidence!

Kinder Camino
I did the Galicia section of the Camino in October 2017 and I would do it all again tomorrow if I could. The Fresco people were amazing. Alissa kept us informed from the very start to the very end.
Our guides Ana and Roberto were fantastic and no problem was too much for them. The lunches they prepared were really something, so much so we asked for the recipes. I had picked this company based on the trip advisor reviews and they did not disappoint. They specialize in walking tours of Spain and they are a Spanish company, so they know their stuff. We decided to do the Fresco Start Camino de Santiago and it was an amazing experience. The team at Fresco are first rate (shout out to Elba!) and were always available to answer any questions. Hotels were wonderful, the information was comprehensive and the Galicia area of Spain is stunning! Now, you need to be prepared for this. You need to train, especially walking hills ,as this is not a stroll! You may curse yourself at times wondering 'what was I thinking!' However, this is ultimately an incredibly rewarding personal experience. You do not walk in a group and it does not have to be religious pilgrimage. For us it was 'a resting of the mind and an exercise of the body!' Which in itself,is a religious experience.

Life altering Trip!
Our pilgrimage on the Camino Trail was life altering. It was inspiring to see all ages, shapes and levels of fitness, each doing the trail for their own reasons. We did the 200 km self guided tour with Fresco and they did an incredible job. The daily maps were essential and finding our luggage in our room at the end of each day was just what we needed. The group that started the tour were amazing people. If I could bottle the physical, emotional and spiritual feelings, I would share with everyone so that they would do this journey. No one should miss it. Fresco is the only way to go!

Unforgettable Camino Tour
I joined the September 2017 Camino Portugues tour as a solo traveler and everything about this trip was wonderful! Fresco Tours did an amazing job organizing this walk. Well organized logistics, delicious food (especially the picnics), great restaurants and very nice accommodation. Our guides Jason and Irene, were superstars! They made everyone feel comfortable and made sure we were all having a great time. Lastly, our group was just so cool! Everyone was very friendly and cheerful!

Every step was meaningful
We did the 200 km's and had the time of our lives. Flew into Madrid. Took train to gorgeous Leon,Spain and enjoyed the restaurants and scenery there in a beautiful hotel with a balcony that made all the traveling seem just fine. Trained to PONTFERRA to start our Camino with the other self guided peregrines. Every day held magic. Every step was meaningful. Every church was for the soul and very evening Mass -perfect.

I Would Do Again with Fresco
My Camino pilgrimage with Fresco Tours has to be one of the best decisions I've made! From the pre planning with Alissa, the itinerary, our guides, Jeffrey and Jaume; our driver, Daniel; and the company-- they all made this trip seamless, worry free, enjoyable and memorable. The pre walk meetings were informative and helpful; the historical context provided by the intrepid and passionate Jeffrey made for a more meaningful trek, personal reasons aside. It was a cultural, historical exploration of sorts; a meditative and personal journey for me that I would do again with Fresco. My deepest thanks to all, keep it up. This Tour Company Really Knows How to Put Together a Wonderful Package
We had a great trip! This tour company really knows how to put together a wonderful package of great food, great hotels, and great care of their guests. One of our group had a medical emergency, ambulance and hospital stay (not related to the walk) and they took family members back and forth to the hospital, translated, and were a great comfort ! All the time flawlessly seeing that our group was uninterrupted in our trek to Santiago.

Our second Camino with Fresco was Basque tour. Actually, it was physically more challenging than Kinder Camino, but enjoyed different characters of the landscape. Exceeded My High Expectations
As a single woman, I journeyed to Leon Spain alone, with some fear about what I was getting myself into. Once I met up with my Fresco Tour group I never felt alone or afraid. Our guides were kind, thoughtful interesting and good looking, they were the best!

My Best Travel Experience
We did the Kinder Camino Tour in May and it has been my best travel experience, thanks to the excellence of the organization of excursions and excellent outdoor guides. I can't say enough about the cool expert handling every aspect of the tour, from assistance with every detail before you get to the guides, the accommodation, the food and restaurants, and even the unexpected gift of a photo gallery taken by the guides. Our journey included trips to places we would never have seen without guides, and which in itself is valuable beyond measure. Monasteries, an ancient Celtic fortress just out of the way (where we could see dozens of pilgrims going below), and a lot of historical elements that are invaluable and you can easily lose without experienced guides.

宿泊施設は巡礼宿のアルベルゲではなく、バスタブもあるホテルが予約されています。
ガイドは初日だけコースの説明をしてくれますが、あとはマイペースで歩けます。
ツアー参加者と意気投合して、ディナーは盛り上がりました。

Everything was So Delicious
Vaughan and I want to express our deepest thanks to David and Ana. They made the tour awesome. Their historical knowledge and anecdotes, how history impacts today's culture, highlighting local culture for us and the cultural recipes and food. Luckily, we maintained our weight between the hiking and over eating :-)! Everything was so delicious. I personally want to thank them for the care they took to prepare 2 versions of many salads to ensure one was gluten free and working with the hotels, manor homes and restaurants to ensure gluten free options. Vaughan has traveled far more extensively than I have and he agreed this was one of the best trips he has taken.

Having looked at a number of tour companies online before deciding on Fresco Tours, I was incredibly glad that I chose them for our trip.
