Today’s walk begins near the Favaritx Lighthouse on the eastern side of the island and offers spectacular panoramic views as we make our way from cove to cove. You can count how many we pass and choose your favorite spot to dip your feet in the sea. Among the most cherished by locals are Tortuga Beach (Turtle Beach) and Es Grau Beach. This route is especially pleasant, with wooden steps in the steeper sections to make the walk less challenging.

After a couple of hours, we reach the area of Albufera d’Es Grau, a coastal lagoon and birdwatchers’ paradise, with well-maintained wooden walkways. We’ll stop for lunch in the charming whitewashed town of Es Grau.
For those who want to extend the experience, there is an optional 5 km extension to Cala Mesquida, featuring three small hills that evoke the landscapes of Ireland. If the weather is mild, Cala Mesquida is also a lovely spot for a swim.
On the way to our next accommodation, we’ll make a stop at Monte Toro (literally “Bull Hill”), the highest point on the island, to take in the impressive views. Our rural hotel for the evening offers beautiful vistas of Menorca’s northern coast, where we’ll enjoy a well-earned dinner.
