Cala Morell to Cala en Blanes

El Pilar to Cala Morell

Day 7

Accommodations: Ciutadella (B, L, D)

Distance: 15 km / 9 mi

Our walk begins with a brief visit to a fascinating set of Neolithic caves located right along the trail—a must-see for history enthusiasts. After exploring the caves, we move into an open landscape characterized by rocky terrain shaped by the wind. The land here has gentle slopes, with scarce vegetation.

We continue towards Punta Nati, home to a historic lighthouse built in the last century to help reduce the number of shipwrecks caused by storms along this stretch of coast. As we walk, we may spot numerous sheep and traditional Menorcan pyramid-shaped buildings known as ponts de bens (sheep bridges). These shelters for livestock were built in the 19th century and add a charming historical touch to the landscape.

The entire walk follows the coastal cliffs, offering breathtaking views of the island of Mallorca in the distance. The final section offers the chance to admire the natural rock formation known as Pont d’en Gil, a striking arch-shaped structure, before reaching our destination for a well-deserved lunch.

Gourmet Picnic

After checking into our hotel in the heart of Ciutadella, we meet for a guided tour to discover the urban jewel of the island. Our local art historian guide will lead us through the most unique and historic spots in the city. Our day ends with another feast at a local restaurant in town.
