Maspalomas is a popular tourist destination on the southern coast of Gran Canaria, part of the Canary Islands archipelago. It is known best for its extensive golden sand beaches stretching for several kilometers and for its sand dunes. These dunes form a protected nature reserve, creating a unique desert-like landscape.
The Maspalomas Lighthouse serves as the starting place for the pilgrims who are about to embark on their journey along the Camino de Santiago. The structure dates back to the 19th century and offers stunning views of the coast and the dunes.
