Rúa de Francos to Santiago

San Miguel de Valga to Rúa de Francos

Day 10

Accommodations: Santiago (B, L, D)

Walking: 13 km / 8 mi

Big day! Today’s our final walk, all the way from Rua de Francos to Santiago de Compostela. The Camino winds through charming villages that slowly turn into Santiago’s outskirts as we get closer. Remember, that grand cathedral up ahead? That’s our finish line!

O Milladoiro

Milladoiro! This town, once separate, is now practically a Santiago suburb. Perfect spot for a yummy picnic (our last gourmet one, boohoo!) before tackling those final miles. Milladoiro’s been a Camino stop for ages, with countless pilgrims passing through.

Lunchtime! After fueling up, we hit the trail for the final stretch to the cathedral. Heads up: the last 3 kilometers (about 2 miles) are a change of pace. Gone are the quiet fields – we’ll be walking through the city itself. No more trusty yellow arrows on rocks to guide us, but the good news is the second half takes us through Santiago’s historic heart, barely touched by time for over 150 years!

We made it! After a week on the trail, we’re finally standing in front of the glorious Santiago Cathedral. Feeling wiped? Head back to the hotel for a well-deserved rest. Itching to explore? Hit the town while our amazing Fresco Tours team collects your Compostela certificates.

Either way, we’ll all regroup for a celebratory dinner after your siesta or city adventure. Let’s raise a toast to conquering the Camino together and the unforgettable memories we’ve made with Fresco Tours! Cheers!
