Three Journeys to Santiago de Compostela: Pilgrim Chronicles from the 15th, 16th and 17th Centuries
In December 1494, the German traveller Hieronymus Münzer began his pilgrimage toSantiago de Compostela on the Portuguese Camino. One hundred years later, theItalian priest Giovanni Battista Confalonieri followed his footsteps, arriving in Santiago on May 4th. In 1670, another Italian – the priest Domenico Laffi – completed his pilgrimage on the 30th of June, after walking all the way from Bologna Italy on the French Camino.These are their accounts.
