After breakfast it is time to depart from Vila Praia de Ancora to A Guarda, and enter the region of Galicia. Your stage takes you from Vila Praia de Ancora to A Guarda. Once you pass the Sra. Da Bonança Chapel, you soon return to the waterfront, where you walk along the fishing harbor and old fortresses until you reach Moledo. The shoreline continues to get rockier as you leave Ancora, and further along the Camino you see the Mountain of Santa Tegra as you walk alongside the sand dunes.
As you continue walking the path splits in two. Be sure to use your Fresco Tours maps to guide you along the coastal path and through the pine woods. Upon leaving the forest, you arrive in Caminha, where you can stop in the lovely historical center to visit the Matriz Church. Then catch the ferry across the River Minho, where you finish your walk to your destination for today.
After a rewarding day you arrive in A Guarda, a small fishing town to explore before continuing on your journey tomorrow. At your hotel your luggage will be waiting for you! Try some new for dinner, maybe grab a drink with your fellow pilgrims, and get ready for the day to come.
